U.S. News & World Report Names UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital Among the Best in Iowa

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital is among the nation’s Best Regional Hospitals, according to U.S. News and World Report. St. Luke’s is ranked third best hospital in Iowa in the U.S. News & World Report 2018-19 edition. The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings, now in its 29th year, recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients.

 

St. Luke’s was rated high performing in three adult specialties: nephrology, pulmonary and geriatrics. St. Luke’s was ranked high performing in four adult procedures and conditions: heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip and knee replacement.

U.S. News and World Report evaluates approximately 5,000 hospitals nationwide on common inpatient procedures and conditions. The Best Hospitals methodologies include objective measures such as patient survival, number of patients, infection, adequacy of nurse staffing and more. U.S. News first began publishing hospital rankings in 1990 as part of an expanding group of consumer advice products.
