Due to inclement weather, the event will now be held inside at Gilded Pear Gallery, 808 3rd Avenue SE, next to the MedQ Park on 3rd.
The MedQuarter Regional Medical District is ready to cut the ribbon on two initiatives that work toward the District’s Master Development Plan. The completion of the MedQuarter’s new pocket park, “MedQ Park on 3rd” and the MedQ Mile walking route will be celebrated at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 20 at 11:30 a.m. The MedQ Park on 3rd is located on the Northeast corner of Third Avenue and Eighth Street SE.
Cedar Rapids Mayor Hart, members of the Cedar Rapids Medical SSMID Commission, and other local officials will attend the ribbon cutting event to recognize these new enhancements to the District. Following the ribbon cutting, lunch will be provided by Moys Tacos food truck.
The MedQ Park on 3rd opens a new green space in the District. The park will provide a pedestrian and bike-friendly green space well-suited for yoga classes, musical events, food trucks, and additional programming.
The MedQ Mile is a one-mile loop in the District well suited for pedestrians and people in wheelchairs. It promotes healthy activities for employees and visitors in the District. For more information on the MedQuarter or strategic initiatives throughout the District, visit www.themedq.com.
