FRIENDS!
We are asking for all our sewing masters and novices to help us make masks for our community!
Gems of Hope works hard to inspire hope in cancer patients and their families. Today, we are asking for your help to expand our mission to inspire HOPE in our community through much-needed fabric masks.
We are asking for those among us who have the ability to make masks for our hospitals and clinics here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. If you already have cotton, high weave fabric, we are asking you to consider using it for the purpose of making masks. Materials are in high demand and the supplies are low, but it is so important for us to do our part to protect and support our community members who need it.
Below are the instructions for each type of mask our community hospitals are asking for:
Mercy Medical Center: https://www.mercycare.org/app/files/public/10100/Mask-Instructions.pdf
UnityPoint and PCI: https://www.unitypoint.org/cedarrapids/sewing-surgical-masks.aspx
Please follow the links provided. Mercy masks and Unity Point masks are different! Please review the requirements of each and decide which would best fit your style and ability.
WHEN YOUR MASK IS COMPLETE:
1. Please email Kaytee at OFFICE@GEMSOFHOPE.COM
2. Please provide your NAME, number of MASKS, and HOURS worked to complete masks. Your hard work is important to Gems! We want to make sure your hard work is documented and credited!
3. Please provide us with a PHONE NUMBER that would be best to use should we need to call you about pick-up.
THANK YOU!
Gems of Hope could not be more grateful for all of the volunteers, donors and sponsors that come together to help us achieve our mission.
