UnityPoint is Extending Its Visitor Policy

MedQuarter (MedQ) Regional Medical District | June 24th, 2021

Effective June 28, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital will implement changes to its visitor policy as the community recovers from the pandemic and vaccination rates continues to increase.

St. Luke’s visiting hours will be extended from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Hospital visitors are limited to two visitors per patient, per room. However, the visiting age has been lowered to include children 12 and older. Visitors must be in good health and will be screened, have a badge provided and wear a mask.

St. Luke’s Behavioral Health units on 1W and 3E will now follow hospital policy. 2E will only allow one visitor during limited hours and no children under 18.

At St. Luke’s Center for Women’s and Children Health, one support person plus two visitors will be allowed. These are to be consistent visitors throughout the stay. Siblings of any age can be considered one of the visitors and there are no restrictions on visiting hours. NICU patients may have two visitors (birth parents/guardians). No sibling visitors. Two visitors will be allowed on the pediatrics unit. No sibling visitors.

Detailed hospital visitor polices may be found at unitypoint.org.
