First Lutheran is a thriving congregation of 150 years nestled in the Medical Quarter in the heart of Cedar Rapids. When our current building was constructed in 1911, it was considered in the country! Now, we are in the center of community at the corner of 3rd Ave and 10th Street.
We have become a regional church of nearly 2,000 ministers from throughout the area who believe God placed us “In the Heart of the City, to be God’s Heart for all in the City.”
We come together to learn about and grow in faith in Christ, to be a community of accountability and support, and to serve as God’s hands in this place.
