Friends of Cedar Rapids Historic Preservation Showcase Event

Join the Friends of Cedar Rapids Historic Preservation in preserving our history and celebrating our best, on Saturday, June 23 at 12:30 for a FREE Preservation Showcase Event, starting in the courtyard of the Historic Ausadie Building, 845 First Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids.
1-3 p.m. – Meet and Greet
Join the members of the non-profit, Friends of Cedar Rapids Historic Preservation as they answer questions about the organization, preserving historical properties, upcoming education workshops, becoming a local landmark and much more! Light refreshments will be served.
1 & 2 p.m. – Historic Bus Trips
Historian Mark Stoffer Hunter will present the progress made with historic preservation in the past 10 years since the flood of 2008. Great strides and efforts by many have been made in protecting our cultural and architectural history. Sit back, and relax while learning more about Cedar Rapids history on the 47 passenger air-conditioned charter bus. Arrive early as these bus trips fill up fast!
3 p.m. – Awards Ceremony
Located on the second flood in the beautiful Masonic Library next to the Ausadie Building, these awards wil lbe given to home owners and businesses that have worked hard to restore their properties to maintain historical significance.
