May 22, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
The Tanager Place Training & Education Institute invites you to be part of this valuable professional development experience in Cedar Rapids.
Our first keynote speaker for the 2020 symposium is Dr. Tina Payne Bryson.
Dr. Bryson is the Founder and Executive Director of The Center for Connection, a multidisciplinary clinical practice, and of The Play Strong Institute in Pasadena, CA. She is a pediatric and adolescent psychotherapist who makes frequent media appearances, keynotes conferences, provides consultations, and conducts workshops all over the world.
Dr. Jaiya John will serve as the symposium’s second keynote speaker.
An internationally recognized freedom worker, author, speaker, poet and youth mentor, John was born into foster care in New Mexico. He is the founder of Soul Water Rising and Freedom Project, as well as a former professor of social psychology at Howard University. John is a National Science Foundation fellow.
A variety of breakout sessions also will be held, including single presenter and roundtable panel presentations with discussion. As the symposium nears registrants will receive additional information that includes specifics on breakout sessions and logistics.
Last year’s symposium was attended by more than 400 people; space fills quickly.
