Mercy Medical Center Support Groups

From medical attention to shopping opportunities, you can find virtually anything you need while in the Cedar Rapids MedQuarter – and that includes support.

If you need advice or support from others facing similar challenges – like cancer or diabetes – you can find it in the Cedar Rapids MedQuarter.

Adult Diabetes Support Group

Held the second Tuesday of each month at Mercy’s Joslin Diabetes Center at 5264 Council Street NE, this group meets from 7-8 p.m. Contact the Joslin Diabetes Center at 319-398-6012.

Breastfeeding Group

A breastfeeding group for mom, baby and support persons at Mercy Medical Center’s Birthplace classroom. Sessions are held 10:30 a.m.-noon on Wednesdays. Call 319-363-BABY (2229) or email Birthplace@MercyCare.org for more information.

Cancer Transitions

A free six-week workshop to help cancer survivors transition from cancer treatment to post-treatment care. Contact Amanda Covington at 319-398-6674 or ACovington@MercyCare.org for more details.

Prostate Support Group

This group meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.
